Journeys - BBC Concert Orchestra film project
Brief

‘To create a short film inspired by journeys’. To work alongside students from Nottigham University who will compose a score for the film which will be played live by BBC Concert Orchestra.
Idea

Create a film that shows the journey of animation through time, using the setting of a train journey to display this journey.
The opening scene sets us up with the animation of a train coming straight towards the screen throwing us into the story and creating a strong bold intro that excites and grabs the attention of the viewer. The story plays on the chase commences a fun exiting score plays alongside throwing us into the playful animated journey ahead.

With the viewpoint of the train window staying the same, the passing of time through the aniamtion styles plays out. Each scene builds on the last, with the introduction of colour to then more artistic direction and to more
contemporary and experimental aniamtion. Each scene brings a new excitement to the piece with the wonder of what might play out next creating a focus on the journey and not the destination.

Composed by 'Thomas Parker' and performed by the 'BBC Concert Orchestra' at the
Theatre Royal in Nottingham
